I love this gardening book. Finding a reference book that is both aesthetically appealing AND useful for Southern California-specific gardening has before now, been extremely difficult. FINALLY, I have found one that addresses the unique climate with those pesky Santa Ana winds, soil conditions with the unforgiving clay, and how to actually grow various types of vegetables and when to do it! As an added bonus there are fun and helpful "nutrition nuggets", recipes on how to enjoy the "vegetables" of your labor, and even a fun chapter on how to introduce gardening to those curious and adventurous children in our lives.
